First day of Kindergarten

Brittany's first day of Kindergarten was August 27th (Thursday). She said she liked school but it was long. She was really excited to go and didn't even fight me when it was time to line up with her class. She had a huge smile on her face the whole time. Can't believe my little girl is in Kindergarten.

Rainbow, School, Fun

After a rainstorm we looked out the loft window and saw a big rainbow. Pictures never do them justice but thought we would try. Couldn't get the whole picture as one so it is broken down in half.
Kylee's first day of pre-school was today. When asked what her favorite part of school was she said it was the "cookies". She is our sweet tooth. She seemed to have a great time because she is looking forward to going again on Thursday.

Fun day at the Country Farm at Thanksgiving Point. We originally planned on going to the Dinosaur Museum but since it is $2 Buck Tuesdays during August that place was packed and the line was ridiculous. So we settled for feeding the animals and pony rides (which of course were winners for the kids).

Grandpa and Grandma's party!

_ FYI ---I used a different editing strategy to speed up the process....I don't like it and I'll go back to my original PS technique!

August for Shelley and James

On August 1st, after Grandma and Grandpa's party, James and I finished our first sprint triathlon. It was 5K run, 12 mile bike, and 400 meter swim. We both did pretty well and are thinking about trying an olympic length triathlon in September up at Daybreak. If anyone wants to join us, there is another sprint at the same time.

Last night was the Hot Air Balloon festival at Sandy City Hall. We tried to get Heather and fam to go, but Heather claimed she had to make a cake ;o) It was really fun and one of the guys with a balloon taught us about putting the balloon together and the aerodynamics of balloon flight. Very educational! He even let us stand inside the balloon and I tried to take a picture, but the lighting was terrible. So, I'm not going to post most of the pictures I took. Sadly they all turned out black. Obviously I don't have a very professional camera. Here are some that kind of worked.
